Wildlife in Waterton

Keep your eyes open and ears alert because you are more than likely going to see an abundance of wildlife throughout the park. Most commonly spotted are deer, Big Horn Sheep , elk, and black bears. To ensure your safety do not feed the wildlife and keep a safe distance when taking pictures. Though the animals seem tame, they still show aggressive territorial behaviors especially during mating season. Remember to respect their space. Animals that frequent the park include: Elk, Bighorn Sheep, Mule Deer, Black Bears, Grizzly Bears, Cougars, Coyotes, Foxes and Wolves.
