Elk

Waterton is a great place to view the elk rut in the fall. Herds of hundreds are seen on the prairies and bulls gather harems up to 80 cows. Spectators can watch the rival bulls challenge opponents by bellowing and by paralleling each other, walking back and forth and often engaging in antler wrestling.
