Horseback Riding

Waterton Lakes National Park offers you glorious horseback riding opportunities. Enjoy a quiet ride through beautiful pastures, rolling hills, and amazing mountains. During these rides you will experience dazzling scenery from atop a horse, the most noble of animals!

Tennis is a sport enjoyed by all ages of people. There are tennis courts in the Waterton townsite located just across the street from the Fitness Centre at the Waterton Lakes Resort.

Canoeing and Kayaking

Nestled in a glacial basin, Cameron Lake is a hidden jewel high in the Canadian Rockies. Part of Waterton Lakes National Park, Cameron Lake offers fishing, hiking trails for all skill levels, boating and breathtaking views.

Take advantage of this crystal clear, spring fed mountain lake on the water. Cameron Lake Boat Rentals rents canoes, kayaks, rowboats or pedal boats.

Biking

There are four trails designated for biking in Waterton Park. Akamina Pass Trail, Snowshoe Trail, Wishbone Trail, and the Crandell Loop. In addtion to the trails you can ride your bike to Cameron Lake or the Red Rock Canyon... or just around the townsite!

Waterton Lake Boat Cruise

The historic M.V. International has been cruising Waterton Lake since 1927. The shoreline cruise is accompanied by commentary from experienced tour guides and has a duration of just over two hours. Please visit the Waterton Shoreline Cruise Co for more information.

Chief Mountain Connector (Daily shuttle to USA/Canada border)

This shuttle assists hikers/visitors who are returning or coming into Waterton via the Chief Mountain Border. It also works as a connection with transportation into Montana. There are varied options on the other side of the border to continue into the US.

Cameron Express (One-way Daily shuttle)

This shuttle is most commonly used for hikers to access the Carthew- Alderson Trail, a one-way hike beginning at Cameron Lake and ending in the Waterton village.

It is also a good way to access Akamina-Kishinena to bike the Wall Lake trail before cycling down the Akamina Parkway back to the village.

Reservations are required for hikers and especially mountain bikers. We have a maximum capacity of six bikes.

Tamarack Trail Traveller (Shuttle for Tamarack Trail Hikers)

The Tamarack trail is an overnight multi-day hike that travels to many alpine lakes in the Blakiston and Akamina valleys.

Runs from June to October, weather and trail condition depending. Bookings before or after these dates please contact us.
